It seems that he had planned to buy an iPhone and motorbike with the money.
The father is believed to have connected with the buyer, who wanted to give the baby to his sister, through an online site called QQ.
Police eventually found the mother who reportedly claimed that she “really didn’t know that it was illegal.”
She received a two-and-a-half year suspended sentence.
It is believed the buyer also surrendered to authorities, but the outcome of his case is unknown.
His sister is still caring for the baby while officials figure out the best next steps.
